How to copy annotations from a prior release to a new release

There are two ways to copy your annotations from a previous release of a title to the latest release.

Note: Annotations are only copied if the highlighted text and the location of the highlighted text are exactly the same in both the prior release and the new release.

Copying annotations when first opening a new release

The first time you open a new release, select Copy annotations from the prompt to start copying your annotations from the previous release.

Copying annotations from the My annotations page in the digital library

If you don't want to copy your annotations right away, you can copy them at any time from the title's annotations page:

  1. Go to your My annotations page in the digital library.
  2. Select View annotations beneath the title.
  3. Select Title actions, then Copy annotations to latest release.
  4. Select which release you'd like to copy annotations from.
  5. Select Copy annotations.

You can see the copying progress on the title's annotations page. If you'd like, you can open the latest release while copying is in progress.

Once the copy request is complete, you can review the results to see which annotations copied to the new release and which, if any, didn't.
