How do searches work?
Searches in the LexisNexis Digital Library work a little differently than searches in other LexisNexis products.
The LexisNexis Digital Library uses simple logic when you search for content or search within a title or set. Boolean operators (like AND, OR, and NOT) don't work to narrow or broaden searches. This means that, instead of "New York AND family law," you should search for "New York family law."
Once you run a search or open a collection, you can use filters (which have Boolean logic) to refine your results.
If you'd like to see search results in a certain order, you can adjust how they're sorted. Sort options can include relevance, release date, alphabetically by title, and date added.
The default sort option varies based on where you performed the search. All searches in the digital library (whether it's a quick search for a title or searching within a set) are, by default, sorted by relevance.
If you open a book and then perform a search, the results are sorted in the order they appear in the book.
