How to read a book with a screen reader

If you use the LexisNexis Digital Library with a screen reader, you can enter Read From Here mode after you open an ebook using the steps below.

On a desktop or laptop

1. Open an ebook in the digital library.
2. Enter focus or forms mode.
3. Press Shift + / to open the keyboard commands menu and select Read From Here.
   Or, press Shift + V to enter Read From Here mode directly.
   Note: The keyboard commands menu has additional options that may be of interest, including shortcuts for searching the text or closing the book.
4. Once in Read From Here mode, turn focus or forms mode off to navigate the ebook.

On iOS or Android

Note: If you're using VoiceOver on iOS, you can use the Magic Tap gesture (a two-finger double tap) anywhere in the reader to enter or exit Read From Here mode. Otherwise, follow the steps below.

1. Open an ebook in the digital library.
2. Swipe until you hear keyboard commands.
3. In the keyboard commands menu, swipe to find and select Read From Here.
   Note: The keyboard commands menu has additional options that may be of interest, including shortcuts for searching the text or closing the book.
